What to do when you've fallen off the wagon
So you've had a shocker of a last month and your training has fallen apart. You've been for a handful of runs, and you haven't stepped into the gym for the last two weeks. It can feel really challenging to get back into the swing of things when you've lost all your momentum.
But not all is lost! Getting back on track may seem daunting, but there are a few strategies that will make it much easier to step back into a good routine.

1) If you've been struggling to train due to a lack of time, look at genuine opportunities to train in your week. It only needs to be 20-30 mins. Make sure to factor in the time it takes to get ready, commute to the gym, and get home.
2) Pick the exercises you enjoy doing the most or are the easiest to set up. Exercises using machines or dumbbells are great for this.
3) Start with an easily attainable routine, like training 1-2 times a week. You don't need to jump back into your previous training regime where you were training 4-5x a week.
4) And lastly, find a way to enjoy your training. Go with a friend, or listen to your favourite playlist or podcast.
You may need to reshape your expectations of training to begin with, but starting is the hardest part. Once you're back on schedule, it's much easier to make adjustments to your training rather than re-introducing everything at once.
